FIRE SEASON DECLARED
BURNING PERMITS SUSPENDED

The onset of warm, dry weather has prompted Cal Fire to suspend
authorization for open fires typically permitted during wetter
weather.

The burn ban took effect Thursday morning July 1 in unincorporated,
state responsibility areas throughout Sonoma County which includes
the Fort Ross and Timber Cove Fire Protection Districts.

The burn suspension is intended to limit the possibility of escaped
control burns during the hottest, driest season of the year.
